Alabama State has added another experienced playmaker to its receiving corps, as former Alabama A&M wide receiver Franck Pierre announced his commitment to the Hornets via social media.
Pierre arrives in Montgomery after a productive season with the Bulldogs, where he recorded 33 receptions for 548 yards and five touchdowns. His ability to stretch the field and create explosive plays gives Alabama State another weapon as the program looks to build on its recent success and compete for a SWAC championship in 2026.
The move is particularly noteworthy because it comes within the conference. Pierre spent last season at Alabama A&M, making the transition from Huntsville to Montgomery while remaining in the SWAC. His familiarity with conference opponents could prove valuable for an Alabama State offense seeking additional firepower.
Before joining Alabama A&M, Pierre played at Miles College, where he was part of a successful program and continued to develop into a reliable receiving threat. Standing at 6-foot-2, he possesses the size and athleticism to create mismatches against opposing defensive backs.
For Alabama State, landing a player with proven production at the FCS level represents another significant addition through the transfer portal. Pierre’s 548 receiving yards ranked among the Bulldogs’ top receiving totals last season, and his five touchdown receptions demonstrated an ability to make plays in critical situations.
As the Hornets continue assembling their roster for the upcoming campaign, Pierre’s commitment adds both experience and depth to a receiving room that will be expected to play a major role in Alabama State’s offensive attack.
With spring and summer roster movement continuing across the SWAC, the Hornets have secured a receiver who has already shown he can produce against conference competition—and now he’ll be looking to do it in black and gold.
